Burwardsley - Raw Head Summit
Distance: 5 miles.
The walk is mostly easy but there are some climbs involved but these are not difficult or very steep. The height gain is about 650 feet.
The walk starts and finishes near Beeston at the Cheshire Workshops Craft Centre near the Peckforton Hills.
The Craft Centre, makes for an interesting place to visit where you can see craft workers at work making their products and in some case make your own alongside them.
There is also a restaurant/cafe, toilets and shop.
Most of the route runs along old trails, wooded tracks and a few field paths. The route runs adjacent to ancient beech woods, on to the summit of Raw Head, which offers stunning views over Cheshire and North Wales.
Packed lunch and walking shoes or good trainers recommended. We should be back in the cafe about 2.30 and non walkers are very welcome to meet up with us there.
10.30 Meet in the car park of the Cheshire Workhops
The Cheshire Workshops are well signposted from A41 and A49. You can park at the workshops. SAT NAV: CH3 9PD but as you get near follow the sign for ‘Candle workshop’, if you end up outside the Pheasant Inn then the workshops are behind you.
